Walking Through History: A Visit to the Anne Frank Exhibit

Mrs. Wassong’s 8th grade English class recently visited the Anne Frank Exhibit in New York City. During the trip, students had the opportunity to tour a full-scale recreation of the Secret Annex, where Anne Frank, her parents, her sister Margot, and four other Jewish individuals hid for two years to escape Nazi persecution during World War II. The exhibit provided a powerful and emotional experience, allowing students to gain a deeper understanding of Anne Frank’s life, the horrors of the Holocaust, and the resilience of those who lived through it. This visit helped bring their classroom studies to life and encouraged thoughtful reflection on the importance of tolerance, human rights, and historical memory.
