SMS Chess Club Competition Update The Secaucus Middle School Chess Club in conjunction with the Secaucus Spectator and various local Secaucus Businesses hosted a Chess Tournament on January 18th in the cafeteria. The tournament was open to all middle and high school students (grades 6-12). The tournament was a great success, with over 30 participants competing in the challenge. Congratulations to SMS 6th Grade Student Liam Shah for winning the tournament, as well as runner-up SHS Junior Dev Chandarana. Thank you to all participants! A special thank you to Mr. Don Evanson for setting up the tournament, as well as providing sandwiches from Natoli's and our trophies; the SMS PTO for providing snacks and refreshments; Matt Miller, Devin Paredes, AJ Tobia, and Dr. Kaiser for helping live-stream the event and Ms. Sara Williams the SMS Chess Club Advisor for all her help.
